Cannot convert mp3 / wav

Hello, I'm using the 3.0.116.

When I want to convert wav to mp3 the help file says open audio Cd project and select file --> convert. Trouble is the file menu does not contain such an item. Where's it gone?

I forgot to mention I'm running ver 3.0.116 on win 2000

This feature is not included in version 3.0.x.
