  1. Indeed. Clean re-install from scratch of .NET through 3.5 sp1 plus MS Updates afterwards fixed that problem for me. BUT I still get failures reading some .mp3 files while creating Audio disks. This problem has been persistent for the last year at least. It's the reason I stopped using CDBurnerXP. I still have no problems using ImgBurn, but really don't like that interface. I wish there were a solution finally for this strange problem ...
  2. Yeah, from 1.1 through to 3.5. It's a painful experience for some reason on my system, but it was successful in the end (the installation, at least. CD Burner XP still does not run).
  3. I've recently used CD Burner XP successfully. Not sure which version, but now I can't even start up v. I get a .NET system error that XP logs as an application error: Details ID: 5000 Source: .NET Runtime 2.0 Error Reporting EventType clr20r3, P1 cdbxpp.exe, P2, P3 49fcc91b, P4 system.configuration, P5, P6 4889de74, P7 1a6, P8 136, P9 ioibmurhynrxkw0zxkyrvfn0boyyufow, P10 NIL. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. Anyone have any ideas how to fix
  4. Just wondering, a few months later, whether there's a known bug with bootable CDs and adding own files (addition to boot image).
  5. Sorry to see no response or solution on this one, since it's exactly my problem. I have a hard-drive firmware update that must be installed from a bootable floopy that includes the DELL firmware files. But I have no floppy drive, so am trying to create a bootable CD with these files. No luck. OR?
  6. Thanks, again, Flo. You are most likely exactly right about my drive -- at least 4 years old. I have tried lower speeds. I've also tried re-ordering the track list for Audio Discs to verify whether the problem is a specific track or a specific spot in the media. Nonetheless, it's always the same tracks that cause problems. Same problems occur with other burning apps like dBpowerAMP CD Writer and Helium Music Manager. Looks like I finally need a new drive. PS: I've just read release notes for Compilations from multiple media is a fantastic development -- exactly what I was hop
  7. Thanks for having a look, Flo. I don't think the problem is MP3s. Despite your WAV work-around (same if I first convert to WAV), 5-10% of my tracks (ripped with lame 3.97 via dBpowerAMP) cause disc errors when writing Audio Discs. That's way to high. Hopefully the developer of the burning module with sort that out. I'll watch for good news.
  8. I had the exact problem last night (EDIT: using version 4.2.2), and ended up making a nice set of matching coasters that look a lot like audio cd's. For me, it was usually 1 track in the compilation, an .mp3 with a long title that includes a long part in parentheses: "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived (Variations On A Shaker Hymn)" -- that's in the standard id3v2 title tag, not any other tag such as subtitle. That's the only thing that makes this one file stand out to me, but could be a coincidence. There are also lyrics in the id3v2 tag, but same with other mp3s. I received a more generic m
