Hi everyone,

I am new to this CDBurnerXP which I installed after I found good reviews about the software.

I wanted to create a backup CD copy of a personal audio CD with multiple tracks (.cda).

I chose to Copy CD and it had two options viz .iso (single track) and .mds. Using common sense, I chose .mds because my source CD has multiple tracks.

It generated 2 files, .mds (miniscule file size) and .mdf (huge file size). Using common sense again, I chose .mdf to burn a new CD. Result was a single .mdf file sitting on my new CD. Waste number 1.

I searched more and got info that .iso is the way to go. Tried again with .iso and got a single track on my new CD (as expected). Waste of CD number 2.

What is the way there for a naive like me, who just wants a backup of a CD?

Thanks for reading this.

Shall appreciate your help.

Burning the MDF file cannot work. In fact, CDBurnerXP only allows you to select MDS when burning an image, so I am not sure how you got to burning the MDF image.
