--list-drives lists DVD-ROM-Drives too

Recommended Posts

If there are CD-ROM-Drives and CD-Burners in a system, --list-drives reports all drives and i can't find a possibility to determine which one is a Burner and which one is not - ok, I could check the drive-names that are given, but is that always as clear as in my System:
> cdbxpcmd --list-drives
0: TSSTcorp DVD-ROM SH-D163B (I:\)
1: HL-DT-ST BD-RE  BH10LS30  (J:\)
2: DVDFab   Virtual Drive    (Z:\)
Any Ideas how to determine Burners only?

Do you need to find out programmatically? Otherwise it's usually quite easy to check which devices are read-only.

Yes, programmatically. Actually i am filtering "virtual" and "-ROM" out, but an Option "--list-burners" or something of this kind would be easer to handle. Really unclear, why "--list-drives" in a burner-program gives me Readonly-Drives.
