Copy audio disk takes forever and a day

Recommended Posts

I upgraded to Windows 7 awhile back, and found my older copy of Nero isn't compatible. Trying CD Burner XP, I was able to make an audio disc easy enough, albeit it was a slower process than when I used Nero, but trying to copy a disk takes longer than 20 minutes. I ended up closing the software using task manager because it was taking too long.

Is this normal? With Nero I was able to copy a disk in less than 3 minutes.

The question would be which part of the process takes so long. CDBurnerXP first reads all audio content (takes a few minutes) and then burns the content to disc. Is it the reading or the burning part in your case? Are you copying from one drive to another or do you use a single drive?
