Writing error (3)... write failure (1026)

Recommended Posts

I keep getting the following Error message:

Writing Error: (3) Error occurred writing data to disc. The SCSI/ATAPI bus was reset and caused a write failure (1026)

Error Sense Data: Sense Key: 6 ASC: 29 ASCQ: 0

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No. I got it twice and then stopped trying.

The reason I downloaded CDBurnerXP Pro was that the program I got with my CDRW Drive would essentially do the same thing: go through the process of writing and at the end of the process would give an error message. Nothing so specific as this new program offers, however.

XP

In my last post I mistkenly said the error occurred on my CDRW Drive software.

It was on my XP program, I believe.

My hard drive makes a whining noise on startup. Do you think that that is related to my hardware problem, or do you think I need a new CDRW Drive?

Are you familiar with the error message I received?

Well, usually the integrated XP writing software works.

My hard drive makes a whining noise on startup. Do you think that that is related to my hardware problem, or do you think I need a new CDRW Drive?

If your PC works apart from that burning problem and it's only the harddrive which makes a strange noise, it shouldn't be a CDRW drive problem. But I would try to check that by installing a new drive temporarily if possible.

Are you familiar with the error message I received?

No, because I did not receive it yet.
