DVD writing error

Recommended Posts

i've encoded some dvd's using dvd shrink. i used to have v2.9.9 and everything was fine, then its started just crapping out not burning at all, never started. so i switched to the latest and i still get an error, but now it tells me what it is.

Writing Error (3) Error occurred writing data to disk

A flaw exists in the power calibration area (1048).

Error Sense Data: SENSE KEY: 3 ASC: 73 ASCQ: 3

Any idea what the problem is? i'm burning with an Optorite 1205 with latest firmware. and it has worked before, infact earlier today, so i don't know. please help.

oh yeah, i encode to AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders instead of ISO, fyi

I noticed you have a "thunderbird" icon on your profile. Do you use it? What can you tell me about how well it works? I am using Micro Outlook, and I guess it is infected because I keep getting emails coming back to me that I never sent out and don't show in my sent folder. I guess I opened something that sends out emails in my name. That or someone hijacked my email address and is using it to send out bulk email.

Let me know what you think, please.

Well, I have a Thunderbird icon in my profile, and it's a great program ;)

It should be more secure than MS products, but I can't tell you if it will prevent an already "installed" virus from sending mails, that depends on the kind of infection. It is worth a try though.
