DVD Drive not recognized but on compatible list

Recommended Posts

Today, I downloaded the current version of CDBurnerXP and installed it on my Windows 7 machine which is a Dell that is 1 1/2 years old. I tried to burn a DVD and the TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-H653F DVD drive was not recognized. I checked on the Compatibiity list and the drive is on the list.

The troubleshooting page suggests that I download and install the Intel Storage Matrix Driver, etc. The DVD drive works fine with my Nero 10 burning software and other burning programs on this machine. I updated the DVD drive with the latest firmware and it still is not recognized. I checked the Intel website and there are several versions of the Intel Storage Matrix Manager - can someone tell me which version to use?

Can someone suggest how to solve this issue without installing additional drivers, etc. If the drive is listed on the compatibility list why doesn't CDBurner XP see it?
