4.2GB limitation ?

Recommended Posts

Hi :)

First of all, excuse my poor english , I'm french...

I love this nice software, no more failed burnings !!

But I have one question : Why the hell my DivX home player can't recognize a usual dvd-r 4.7 GB when I burn more than 4.2Gb data on it (avi, mp3...)?

When I burn 4.1GB, it's ok, the disc is readable, but if I burn even a little more, then the disc is unreadable! (on my divx player only, but I can read it on my PC)

I tried different brands of dvdrs without success...

I have the message "Bad Disc" :(

when I use an other burner, then I don't have this kind of limitation (but I want to use cd burner xp pro !)

Then I was wondering : why this kind of limitation ?? Is there something I have to do to fix this problem ??

thanks !

I have the same problem using version 3.5.101.4 (DVD+RW reads OK on my PC, but fails to be read by kiss dp 450 divx player):

DVD+RW 4197.52 MB, burnt with CDBXPPro -> "Bad Disc"

DVD+RW 4197.52 MB, burnt with cyberlink power2go -> OK

DVD+RW 3963.50 MB, burnt with CDBXPPro -> OK

I couldn't figure out what power2go does differently.

I prefer CDBXPPro and wish I could use it instead of power2go (Hey, I even donated to test the beta even though I already own power2go ;-))

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help diagnosing that problem.

Thanks,

Guillaume
