Must it make .cda files from mp3?

Recommended Posts

I'm happy to have found cdburnerxp - I tried making CD's for the first time today using Nero, which I make DVD's with all the time. It wouldn't work. Or it made one but only Nero Showtime would play it.

Then I tried an open source thing I found: Infrarecorder and it found an error coding/decoding an mp3 and closed up abruptly and went away...

So I'm delighted that cdburnerxp just did the job, no problem.

But I see, looking at the cd on my computer, that it has created .cda files. And all I can see are these. The actual files holding the data I can't see. Is this necessary? Can something else be created?

And they don't have the names they originally had - only 'track01, track02..' and so on. Can they be created with more informative names?

And the volume isn't too good. Is there a way to control the volume they are recorded at?
