ASUS DRW-1608P Reports Incorrect Max Burn Speed

Problem Solved...

drive had base fimware installed = v1.17

Upgraded firmware to ver. 1.50

CDBurnerXP Pro now reports MAX burn speed as 32x, good enough!

I have the same kind of problem with Pioneer DVR-108. CDBurnerXP reports max burn speed as 1x. I recently installed the latest alpha of CDBurnerXP and was disappointed to see it has the same bug.

It's not that big of a problem since I can normally override the speed setting from the burn options but when burning an ISO file, the "burn iso image" dialog does not have the override option at all... :( Also, in the alpha version the override is completely non-functional.

I'm using WinXP and the latest firmware for my drive.
