I put my blank dvd into my dvd-r drive and it says there is no disc in the drive. Is there special dvd-R's i need to get or what?

If you are talking about Windows not recognizing the disc in My Computer, make sure there is no dust on the underside of the disc (which should be a light purple color when blank). If there is dust, take a soft, dry cloth (like a t-shirt) and wipe in a straight line from the centre hole to the outside rim, then repeat for a different section of the disc.

If the blank disc came directly from the package when you tested it, check the label on the package and make sure it is DVD-R or DVD-RW or DVD+R or DVD+RW. If the "blank" disc was lying around it may have been scratched and therefore is corrupt and unrecognizable by the computer. :(

Good luck,

Josh
