I keep getting the following error message when I try to write to my DVD:

Writing Error 3:Error reserving DVD-R track/session blocks. Unknown error - use extended data for more information (1051) Error Sense Data: Sense Key: 5 ASC:2C ASCQ:0

Can anyone help me??

Thanks!

I keep getting the same error, but I'm trying to burn a cd. It got through the first 15 tracks, and then the error popped up. What's going on here?

I am facing the same issue.

After setting up a new PC ( and upgrading to CDBurnerXPPro

V 3.5.101.4 ) my Plextor PX708A can no longer burn DVD+R.

The error message comes up when I tried to burn DVD+R

without looking into the possibilities.

Going back to the old V 3.0.116 I had the same failure.

But with other burnSW DVD+R are enabled on my PX708A.

Strange. Looks like influence made by some MSUpdates ??

I had been burning CDs fairly successfully for some time. Then today I suddenly started to get a similar error every time (I didn't note the actual messsge tho :( ).

Remembering some similar trouble awhile back, I re-flashed the firmware for my DVD Writer and the problem went immediately away :D .

I wonder if, somehow, CD Burner Pro overwrites/corrupts the firmware of the drive?

I'm afraid you won't get an answer here

Dunno where to find help anywhere else..

"Funny" thing with me is that I can burn CD's with no problem at all.

how does one 're-flashed the firmware'?

Don't know if this will apply to your problem (as I said in my original post, I didn't remember my msg) and it's so long ago.

However, my PC manufacturer, HP, provided, either as DVD software or a download ( I can't remember), a program ,hpupdate.exe, and a file, d300n_320.bin, to flash the DVD firmware. It only takes a moment to run and is safe.

Suggest you look for something similar or search your manufacturer's site for downloads for your PC and drive.
