I get this error:

Writing Error: (3) Error occurred writting data to disc.

The drive is not ready (1002).

Error Sense Data: SENSE KEY: 2 ASC: 4 ASCQ: 1

Burner:

Buslink D-DBW842-U2F external USB2/Firewire.

Connected to PC with USB 2.0 cable into a USB 2.0 port.

Firmware version 1.23.

The drive shows up as an NEC DVD+-RW ND-6650A when looking at the windows Device Manager.

Hardware:

Dell Dimension 170L

P4 2.8ghz

75gb IDE disk

1gb ram

Im trying to burn about 500mb to a CD-R. I initially tried 24x (automatically selected) then I tried 8x and 1x.

The media is TDK and in the center it says "Certified Plus".

The files to be burned are on the local machine. I also had problems burning to TDK 8X DVD+R discs until I let CDBurnerXP burn at the automatically detected rate of 1x. It appeared to burn much faster (4.1gb in 11min).

Any ideas?
