Error while trying to write dvd

Recommended Posts

While trying cdburnerxp for the first time, I encountered the following error -

"Writing error3 Error closing dvd+r session border

While closing, the track was never completed (1045)

Error sense data: Sense key: 5 asc: 72 ascq:3"

Can someone help me to decihper this and how to correct it if possible?

Thanks in advance.

When posting burning issues try adding a few things to your post.

Such as:

What burner you have.

What version of the software you're using.

this will help troubleshooting and bugfixes faster, and may also get you a more informative reply as to what you can do/try to fix the issue.

I am running cdburnerxp Pro 3.0.116.

I tried to burn a dvd with write speed set to 1x. This time I got a different error.

"Writing error 3 Error closing dvd+r seesion/border

The divice is not ready (1002)

Sense key 2 ASC 2 ASCO 7"

Somewhat of a progression I guess, but not desired results!!

Thanks again Bob

try using 3.5.101.4 it's available for public download.

it has been rewriten as far as I know so it may help this problem.

If it still presists explain what the problem is again here and we'll see what we can do.

I'm not staff here but I'm a user and fan of the project so I'll help out any way I can.

You'll probably feel a little silly for even asking...

hi folks,

i hesitated opening up a new thread since the problem i do have with my dvd-writer or cdburnerxppro seems to be almost the same.

The error message i get is the following:

ERROR CLOSING DVD+RW SESSION/BORDER - UNKNOWN WRITING ERROR. i need to add that this message comes up when i use a DVD+RW.The files that were supposed to be on the dvd are there and are readable.

When I use a DVD+R, the same error occurs.

It seem nevertheless odd since the dvd is NOT readable. When i reinsert the DVD the disc seems to be unable to be mounted by the system. The LED of the writer keeps going on flashing. So to say, the DVD seems to be TRASH. This problem comes up when i use a DVD+R!

About my equipment: i use a Samsung SH-W08A with the latest firmware it's 1S31, and the alpha version of CDBURNERXPPROP 3.5.101.4. The version 3.0.116 does not seem to be better that is the same error occur.

I really would appreciate any input about about the coming up of those errors... *g*

Thnx CJ... ;)

Well - I tried 3.5.101.4 version but was unable to use it. Every time I tried to open it, I got the following error msg.

"Failed to delay load library mscorsec.dll (win 32 error 1260

This pgm can no longer run and will terminate now"

I reloaded ver. 3.0.116 and am back to my original problems. I will make the following notation, but since I am new at this, I don't know if this is comparing apples to apples or oranges. If and when I run movie dvd maker, I at least get a completed dvd. Mind you the results are not all that great and it takes hours to create the dvd. I only mentioned this because somewhere in this forum, I thought I read where sense byte errors where always due to dirty dvd player or dvd's. Since movie dvd maker creates the dvd, I would think that my hardware is ok?

Postality. First let me say that I admire and appreciate your tenacity in helping me with this problem. Here is the latest.

Downloaded .net2 and cdburnerxp 3.5.101.4

Rebooted system

Tried again to copy mpeg to dvd

Burner options were

Burn Speed 4x

Verify burned data

Eject disc after burn

Use buffer underrun protection.

Ended up with following error -

Writing error [3 - error closing dvd+r session/border]

While closing, the track was never completed

I am almost giddy since each attemp results in a different error. As mentioned before - some progress but dubious at best.

Thanks again... Bob
