How do I know what time of Cd burner drive I have installed? Im trying to burn an audio cd thru Windows media player and wont burn. It tells me to check if the cd is clean and not corrupted . I tried to burn thru Nero 5.5 and that acts like its not reading my burning drive and gives me a message saying no cd inseted, cd required cd-r/rw and I have tried both, still didnt work. What do I do?

At first, how old is the device (or your whole system)? Find out the producer of your drive. That can be done with a tool like Everest Home Edition. Then go to the producer's homepage and try to download an updated version of the firmware. Update the firmware with a software tool offered by the producer and try again. Good luck!
