Writing Error (3) 1053

Recommended Posts

This is my first visit here and second note... I was motovated to come for the exact same error. It seems likely my newly updated Spysweeper may have cause this. I'm writing more in other posts as I look around here.

Hi guys, I've got the same problem. My burner is an LG dvdram gsa-4082b. I used Memorex DVD-R disks. I don't have Spysweeper installed.

Hi all! I've got the same error report. I've got a quite new (1yo; i'm the first user) combo LG drive and burned only 10-15 CD-Rs and maybe 1 DVD (i don't use it very often). But for some time i can't burn anything! Nero showed error messages everytime i tried to burn something so i switched to CDBXPP. Everytime it stops at several % with an error message. I tried data/audio/dvd. I don't have any security software installed except AVG antivirus but i had it installed all the time and i managed to burn some stuff. Maybe it's a WinXP issue?

I have exactly the same problem.

My cd writer is a Slimtype COMBO LSC-24082K. CDBurnerXP was running on my machine since it made its update. My disk drive has at the moment only 50 MB free space. Could be this the reason? Do you want some logs?

Regards,

Markus

Sense key:3 ASC:2 ASCQ:0 tells you that your cd-drive has an reading error.

Sense key: 3 ASC: 2 ASCQ: 0

Transport error: Medium reading data from medium

System error: Input/output error
Most common error is this:
scsi_read error: sector=261 length=6 retry=1

                 Sense key: 3 ASC: 2 ASCQ: 0

Transport error: Medium reading data from medium

                 System error: Input/output error

scsi_read error: sector=261 length=3 retry=2

                 Sense key: 3 ASC: 2 ASCQ: 0

Transport error: Medium reading data from medium

                 System error: Input/output error

That's your CD drive saying that it can't read sector 261

at all. 261 is here not the exact number that will appear thoe, just an example.

This might be a kernel-problem. How to solve this I wouldn't know, but maybe someone else does?

At least you now know it's an I/O-error.
