Alpha version 3.5.101.6 open to the public

Recommended Posts

Now everyone may try our second public alpha version.

Compared to the previous version it fixes some bugs and adds the possibility to burn audio CDs. We know that the number changes are out of all proportion to the time needed for release, due to lack of free time on the part of Stefan and Fredrik. I really hope that the next version will be available sooner :(

Note that this is an incomplete version which still has some bugs. All those who have problems with our current version or those who are interested in the development of CDBXPP can consider downloading this version. If you want a stable version, wait for our final version instead (even though that this version turned out to be quite good for daily usage for me). Note that the .NET Framework or our runtimes are required to use this version.

If you find bugs, let us know in our forum but check our Bug Tracking System before.

New translateable strings for our translators should be available in the next alpha version. Oh, and don't forget our survey.

Hey, guests can post again!

Do you have to be a doner to download the second public alpha version?

I'm really getting tired of waiting.

Yep, I implemented a new spam protection and as long as it works guests will be able to post.

Do you have to be a doner to download the second public alpha version?

Program looks good. An analog audio input would be very nice.

is it free

CDBurner has always been free.

Flo, I saw a post saying the stable version is expected sometime in March.

Is this true, or was that an assumption on the poster's part?

By the way, when I asked about doners, I knew one could download it without experation, but I thought that would imply that I want to be a doner.

Oh well, my first estimate was March 2005. Now obviuosly it is almost March 06 and we are not close to the final version at all. I won't do any further estimations.

I have also been excited when I wrote that :(

I just remembered, in 2004, when you predicted March 2005, I sarcastly interupted saying "More like in May 2006."

I also added sometime after Mother's day.

Now I'm guessing April 2007, after Easter.

I have been testing the long awaited latest version and am having problems ripping individual tracks off pre-recorded cds. No matter which track I choose to rip to mp3 or ogg it actually rips the last track on the cd, which is not the track I've ticked in box provided. Also, ripping via ogg, takes an awefully long time and results in a huge file - something amiss here me thinks!!!

I hope you will offer a 2 tier system in which customers who are willing to pay a fee can get some technical support. I posted about a problem with some glitches in the audio cd I created and a lot of people looked at it but no one offered any suggestions. I ruined 3 goodquality music CD's and now am afraid to use the program. I would gladly pay a small sum to have access to someone who will help resolve technical questions.

Hello friends..

The Alpha version 3.5.101.6 open to the public ( 11 Feb 2006 written by Flo), looks good, but fails creating AUDIO CDs..

I try with various CDRWs units, and this version causes CD AUDIO fatal damages..

The program seems good although it is writing in visual BASIC and with " net..???"

It would be very good if they wrote it in one more serious language, like C/C++ and also for carrying it to linux..

Well...since you apparently have a limited knowledge about programming, I suggest that you leave the decision to us ;)

Thankyou for developing this product. I need it badly, I'm sure others do too.

How old did you say this alpha was???

Anyway it seems really good and I hope it comes out soon (though it may not...).

Some minor gfx adjustments could be done (like I don't know why the icon that displays in my Desktop is 256 colors and not 32 bits - I checked there was one with IconDeveloper free...).

Also some other buttons and gfx in the app also look like they are not 32 bits... Or at least the edges aren't that smooth...

One suggestion, when exiting the burner (like the "Create data CD/DVD") go back to the inicial menu (where we choose between creating a data cd/dvd, music cd/dvd, or rip a cd)...

Also the big window in the inicial menu doesn't look like it's needed anymore (maybe the project type selection could be the only one like in other burner apps).

Whould love to see the final 3.5 out soon... One more thing, is vcd/svcd and video dvd being worked on?

Regards ;)

if you have to use .net, why don't you put the runtimes with the installer of cdburnerxp..let's say..the runtimes in the same folder as cdburnerxp, and the same instalation..:P
