WMP9 not an option - should I download?

Recommended Posts

Hi.

I'm trying to figure out if I can use CDBurnerXP for my new disk drive (Comstar DVR-S111B), which I need to be able to make data disks (both CD and DVD), and ideally would like to be able to record audio and video, as well as watch DVDs. The drive came with an installation CD for Nero OEM Suite, but it's a really huge download, too big for my little laptop.

I still have Windows Media Player 6.something, and my computer is too old and memory-challenged to update Microsoft-anything ( :firefox: ). So updating to WMP9 isn't an option for me. Can I use Winamp instead? If not, is there some other freeware option?

Also my disk drive is a double layer drive. Does CDBurnerXP work with it if I use only single layers disks?

Thanx so much for any insight.

Isis
