floele Report post Posted August 26, 2007 Hi everyone. Finally we have a supposedly complete language file so the translation of CDBurnerXP 4.0 is going to start. Along, we'll fix the remaining bugs for the final release. I have removed the whole old translators-group. If you'd like to help with translation, please let us know by commenting to this news post. Don't forget to name the language you'd like to translate to, so that we don't have too many translators working on the same language. Experience with translation of other software is a plus, so don't hesitate to mention your past work. Once we accepted you as translator, you should get an email telling you that you have been added to the translators-group. All further information you can then find at viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1479 (membership of the translators-group is required to view this page). I'm looking forward to your replies
theoutrider Report post Posted August 26, 2007 Being a native German speaker with excellent English skills and a knack for computer techy stuff, I'd be up for translating it to German. I've been using CDBXP for a while and really like it As for previous work, I've been working as a translator in the video game industry before.

yslandro Report post Posted August 26, 2007 I guess I can do the translation to Norwegian Nynorsk (language code 'nn' or 'no-nn'). Currently my main translation projects are the Opera web browser and the Pidgin messaging client. Some other projects are listed on http://landro.net/omsprog.php>. It would be nice to know - what format to use - approximate number of strings - suggested deadline Y S Landro
floele Report post Posted August 27, 2007 There is no deadline yet, I guess you have a couple of months time. The translation file format is an XML file (MS Visual Studio resource file) and UTF-8.
floele Report post Posted August 27, 2007 Also, everyone who received access, please send me either a PM or post into the translators forum so that I know if everything is alright. Otherwise I will remove you again assuming that you either did not get the necessary permissions or changed your mind

HelderMagalhaes Report post Posted August 27, 2007 Hi! I'm willing to support to the project by contributing with the standard Portuguese (pt-PT) translation. I take the opportunity to congratulate you for the project. I've found minor issues I'll report when I have the chance, but overall it's very stable and usable since the first minute. Best regards, Helder Magalhães

floele Report post Posted August 28, 2007 Kann vermutlich nicht schaden, da ich die nächste Zeit wohl eher mit der Entwicklung als mit der Übersetzung zu tun haben werde. Dann müss ihr euch mal untereinander arrangieren.

Evolic Report post Posted September 2, 2007 Hello, I have found that there are two persons from my country, but I'll try to get in I live in Poland, and I speak and write in Polish (PL) and English. I've translated language packs of Mozilla Applications Extensions for two years (mostly Firefox and Thunderbird Extensions), especialy related with Web Developing: - HTML Validator (http://users.skynet.be/mgueury/mozilla/) - RSS Editor (http://rsseditor.mozdev.org/) - MR Tech's Local Install (http://www.mrtech.com/extensions/local_install/) - currently main translator for this Extesion is Leo, because he had translated most MR Tech Extensions and replaced me to simplify translations maintenance - Slashy (http://gemal.dk/mozilla/slashy.html) - AccountEx (http://accountex.mozdev.org/de_index.html) - No New Window on Double Click (http://www.chuonthis.com/extensions/nnwodc.php) - etc I have also translated web page of ZNF - PHP5 MCV Framework: (http://www.zeronotice.org/). [click on white and red flag] I have made some improvements to this framework so I became one of ZNF's developers (not because of translation ) I have been using UTF-8 format during translating Mozilla Extensions and ZNF language strings, so I don't see any problems with using it. XML format is also very easy to me (ZNF translation files use it). Can you tell when are you going to release final version? "There is no deadline yet, I guess you have a couple of months time." says that it can be 2008 year..
floele Report post Posted September 3, 2007 Hm, actually the Polish translation is already finished and actively maintains as it seems. But I encourage you to look for bugs in the Polish translation during the public beta testing As always, you won't hear release dates, but a beta release is rather a matter of weeks than years now. Because of slow progress I have been checking cdburner xp site 1 time per month. I understand you, because I'm also developer I will see beta version and polish translation when you release it. I hope it will be soon Good lack!
DeathAndPain Report post Posted September 3, 2007 How far is the actual progress fo the project? How long will it supposedly take from now to the next release version? I must say that your news policy is, well, horrible, with months - not to say a year - without any information whatsoever on the progress of the project. I know you are busy, but hey - how hard can it be to write a small news note every two weeks?
