Burning with version 4 does not work

Recommended Posts

I don't know why, but when I burn a CD with CDBurner XP version 4, then the CD is messed up and no longer works. CDBurner XP pretends to be burning properly, but verification (if chosen) already fails, and the CD is no longer readable afterwards. I am using a speed of equal or less than what both the CD and the burner (NEC ND-3540A, latest firmware) are certified for.

I am also getting a "PowerCalibrationError" trying to write on my CD-RW after completely erasing it. I did not get that error before, so I take it that CDBurner XP has messed up the Power Calibration Area of that CD-RW. Since also continuing of regular CD-R media fails, it is not the CD-RW that was faulty.

CDBurner XP Pro 3.0.116 works flawlessly on my system, proving that my hardware is fine. For now, I am considering version 4 as blunder and am going back to version 3.
