mp3gain and itunes

Recommended Posts

So I got mp3gain to correct the volumes of all my songs so that I can reburn a better cd. But for some reason, mp3gain will not touch any of my itunes songs. Is there someway to make it change it's mind? Or do I need to find a better vendor for downloading music? I don't want a monthly membership. I prefer paying per song.

also...does burning speed affect sound quality? (like...the slower you burn=the better the quality?)

Did you try using iTunes to increase the gain for those songs? iTunes has that feature if I am not mistaken. It should be in 'Get Info' and under the 'Options' tab.

you can do individual songs or you can do an overall 'soundcheck' that equalizes all the songs you play. It's absolutely wonderful...except for burning. It doesn't make the slightest difference for burning.

It would be nice if I could simply use mp3gain. That seems to be a very good program, but I guess it doesn't support itunes songs. I've checked around for other programs that do, but there are so many different kinds and technicalities with 'reduced sound quality if you do it this way' and what not that it's very time consuming and discouraging...

It looks like your songs from iTunes are protected by DRM so you have to get a software that can edit DRM-protected MP3 files instead.
