License question

Recommended Posts

I understand that the license has changed (since the last time I looked anyway) to a Attribution - Non-Commercial - NoDerivs 2.0 England and Wales.

My main question is regarding the Non-Commercial provision. It is unclear to me (not being a lawyer, just a IT guy) whether you mean

a) I can't take the software and sell it

B) a) and I can't use the software with no changes at a company/business.

More to the point, I had been using older versions under the (older) license correctly (I thought) at a non-profit academic research lab. I don't actually see anything in the license about if commercial applies to non-profit, academic, both or neither.

Basically, I'd like to know if it can be used in a workplace that isn't a profitmaking company, and under what conditions for the latest version. (If it's even possible to obtain a license, or if it falls under the current license).
