frank273 Report Share Posted August 14, 2008 I'm having an Acer Aspire 5930G Notebook with this drive built-in. The drive is not even found by CDBurnerXP ... it's simply not listed, so I'm totally unable to use it. The drive itself works correctly with Nero and the Vista Burning plugin. So it's not defect. The microsoft support solution doesn't work for this issue ! Guest JaayDee Report Share Posted November 15, 2009 I am having the same problem. My computer is a Toshiba QOSMIO and it wont read discs. It has a symbol like this over its picture when you go into System-Device manager-DvD/CD-ROM drivers+. It also has this comment when you go into its properties. *Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)* What has happened and how can it be fixed? If you know please let me know. Thanks.

Guest Rob from sunny Devon in the UK Report Share Posted January 19, 2010 Same problem here too, seems like this drive has major compatibility problems. It doesn't work with CDBurnerXP or Adobe Audition 3. AA3 cannot 'see' the drive to extract CD audio - although it works great though with an old Artec external drive connected to same notebook via an IDE to USB converter cable and seperate power supply. Not a permanent option though, it sounds like a Chinook Helicopter taking off when I am trying to rip my CD audio. You really couldn't make this kind of farce up could you. I tried the firmware update to RR07 should I go to RR09? Not convinced it will solve the problem, but worth a try I suppose. Manufacturer of this unfortunately common drive needs a rocket up them - if you can find them. LG ? Goldstar? tried them all, clearly no loyalty to customers, unless someone out there can prove me wrong......Please?? I believe the HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T50N ATA DEVICE is best ripped out and replaced, any suggetions on a notebook chasis drive that will fit my brand new Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Notebook Pi 3625. I haven't got the time or the energy to start a Fujitsu Siemens support ticket, I learned long ago, if it don't work trash it and buy a new one. Saves years in time. This drive is a bad egg, but I am very happy to be proven wrong by anyone out there with a brain the size of Russia and a leaning towards the specialist subject of DVD CD ROM Drives. Thanks. Guest spoderman01 Report Share Posted January 28, 2010 Hiya, Bear with me as I'm not the most technically gifted person around but... I bought an Asus F50SV a few months back. A friend of mine looked up the reviews and commented on it having a Blu-Ray drive which I hadn't noticed. But pretty much every online spec I've seen for the F50SV mentions it. And herein lies the problem...When I pop a BD disc in, the drive can't read it. I installed Nero Infotool which says that the GSA T50N isn't Blu-Ray compatible.......so I guess I'm wondering if anyone can confirm that for me. Thanks in advance... Spoderman p.s. It was bought in onoff but the model no longer appears on the website so I can't tell if it was listed as having a BD drive.
