[X] audio tracks out of sequence

Recommended Posts

I've been using CDburnerXP version 4.1.1.950 (on a machine running XP SP 3)and have been very happy with it except for this one glitch.

I choose Audio Disc. The track list from the audio CD I put in my drive appears in the upper panel.

I select the tracks I want to rip. (It doesn't matter whether I choose only some or all of the tracks on the CD;

the behavior is the same).

The tracks are numbered thus: track_01, track_02, track_03, track_04, etc.

Let's say I select tracks 1 through 12. I then drag and drop the selected tracks

(as a block) into the lower panel, and the program starts ripping them. It reports

"Ripping track 01," "Closing track 01," "Ripping track 02," "Closing track 02," etc.

The list of ripped tracks does not show up in the lower panel until

all the selected tracks have been ripped. At that point, there is always

an error in the sequence of tracks, as follows:

Track 01 has traded places with one other track (not always the same one).

For example, the sequence will be

Track 05

Track 02

Track 03

Track 04

Track 01

Track 06

Track 07 etc.

Or:

Track 08

Track 02

Track 03

Track 04

Track 05

Track 06

Track 07

Track 01

Track 09

Track 10 etc.

If I want to select tracks from two different audio CDs and rip them so

I can then burn all the tracks onto one audio CD, I will encounter this

problem twice. Let's say I select tracks 01-12 from CD No. 1 and

tracks 05-15 from CD No. 2. The list in the lower panel will

end up looking something like this:

Track 08

Track 02

Track 03

Track 04

Track 05

Track 06

Track 07

Track 01

Track 09

Track 10

Track 11

Track 12

Track 09

Track 06

Track 07

Track 08

Track 05

Track 10

Track 11

Track 12

Track 13

Track 14

Track 15

That is, tracks 01 and 08 in the first batch of tracks have traded places,

and in the second batch tracks 05 (the first track in this batch) and 09 have

traded places.

Once I correct the sequence by hand, the audio disc I burn is correct;

and all the burned tracks are numbered consecutively (i.e. as tracks 01 - 23

in the above example).

Please advise.

Thanks.

This is not a bug in our software. The Windows Explorer will always put the track first, which has been "dragged". So if you select 1 - 12, and then drag the tracks by moving track 5, track 5 will be the first track. You have to move the tracks using track 1.
