Incompatibility for Optiarc DVD RW AD-7560S ATA

14 posts in this topic

Hi all,

I have Acer 5730 laptop with an Optiarc DVD RW AD-7560S ATA Device which seems to be compatible with CDBurnerXP on Windows XP 32bit SP2, but not on Windows Vista 32bit SP1 and Windows 7 32bit Beta 1 (i see "No compatible driver" even with the compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2 checked in Properties).

Is there any way for fixing that issue?

Thanks in advance and keep up the good work. :)

Best regards,

Rado

I too have the Optiarc DVD RW AD-7560S ATA in a new Acer 4730z notebook running vista 64 bit. I am experiencing the same problems. Tried different burning software, for example, CDBurnerXP, BurnAware, and DeepBurner, but experience unreliable results--most times the errors show not CD/DVD drive installed.

Wish I had a solution for this, but am as baffled as you. I am currently searching for a firmware or driver update to fix this problem, otherwise maybe its just a bad drive.

If anyone has a suggestion please let us know...

Not a bad DVD-writer at all, I've made recovery DVD's but CDBurnerXP doesn't recognize this station.

I'm having the same problem. The drive is listed on the website as supported but CDBurnerXP doesn't recognize it. It just says "No compatible drives". I've burned DVD backups using the Acer-supplied software, and I have the latest driver for it, so I think the drive itself is ok. I have an Acer Extensa 5630-4250 laptop.

Again same problem still with the 4.2.4.1255 on Win7 64bit or Vista 64bit

I'm disinstalling your fantastic sw... sob

Nero works by now. I'm using it.

But I would use your sw if it works.

Hoping for near future... and new releases

I've got the same problem. It would be great to know if anyone from the developers actually cares about it.

Usually, installing the appropriate drivers helps. See forum, FAQ or help file.
