What about non-administrator user support?

Recommended Posts

Guest Joachim Namislow

I have installed the latest version 4.3.0.2064 on a fully updated Windows XP SP3 system. I had checkmarked non-admin support in the installer menu. Nevertheless, when running CDBurnerXP as a restricted user, I obtain the message "no compatible drives" whereas when run as administrator, CDBurnerXP correctly recognizes my HP DVD 840b drive and allows to burn media successfully. Is this a general restriction of CDBurnerXP? Are there any workarounds available other then to run the program as administrator?

Which part of CDBurnerXP does your problem apply to?

The restriction is caused by the Windows OS, which basically denies device access to non admin users.
