Device error (226052)

Recommended Posts

Hoping someone can help with this problem.

Using the latest version of CDBurnerXP, I'm getting this message at the end of a DVD movie burn:

Device error (226052) Error flushing write cache. Program Memory Area Update Failure - 0x037304

I've tried a number of software approaches, but still happens. Up until a few days ago, no problem. Could it be a hardware issue with my internal burner - LG HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4167B? I did notice that one of the last DVDs that burned successfully came out of the drive very warm - much warmer than usual.

Any information, software or hardware, would be much appreciated.

Thanks

For such an error, you could try a different brand (high quality) of mediums. If that does not help, it could really be that your drive is defect.

Yes, I'm going to try that. I've been using Mitsai - a cheapie but wasn't a problem until this week. Also going to try a different device. Problem is, it was one of those weeks where I installed a few pieces of software and drivers so now it's hard to diagnose - and if it's the device itself, it becomes an untimely coincidence. Tried a few restore points, but the problem persists, which makes me tend to think it is the device - though the second half of the error message is most often associated with the medium from what I understand.

Thanks for the response.
