For some reason, very few CDs that I buy work with this burner, which seems odd because I have never had a picky burner before. This one doesn't like the new spindle of Memorex 52x 700MB 80min CD-Rs I got from staples, will erase, but will not burn any re-writable CD I put in there, and so far, I have only had luck with Staples brand 52x 700MB 80min CD-Rs.

I would like to know if there is anything I could be overlooking, or if anyone has had a similar issue, as I would like to continue buying whatever is on sale rather than hunt down individual brands.

I believe I have already done that but I will look for the newest versions and try again. Won't hurt. Thanks for the reply though, I'll let you know how it goes.

Okay, I reinstalled all of the drivers for the motherboard off of Gigabyte's website. I did come across something else I was unsure about. In my motherboard's setup, under "Integrated Peripherals", there is a setting for "On-chip SATA Mode". The three options are "IDE", "RAID", and "AHCI". I do not have any drives running in RAID, so I assumed that was not the correct choice, and with an IDE hard drive and a SATA DVD burner, I was unsure whether to change the default setting "IDE", so I left it alone. Could this be causing my problem? Does anyone know if the drives will behave differently under "AHCI"?

I am new to the forum but have been using this program for a few years now. Never had any problems until building this machine about a month ago. I do not imagine it has anything to do with the new releases of CDBurnerXP. Thanks for the assistance, everyone.
