can not open cdburnerXP

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

i did a search, and found my problem, but not the answer. So i thought that by now someone found the answer.

problem:

when i click the cdburner icon, a window opens and says,

cdburnerXP has encountered a problem and needs to close.

then wants to send an error report to Microsoft

most of the older threads say i need .Net 2.0 but that was a few years ago.

any thoughts?

thanks.

Hi Flo,

i have tried the latest and i am now using an older version.

i have uninstall ed and reinstalled at least 3 different versions starting with the latest download.and ending with about 4-5 gen ago. i can not open the program to check the version numbers, but the file says 4.2.4.1255 and that is the one i now have installed.

with iso burning.

thanks.

Hi Flo,

different day and feel much better.

the error window says:

cdburnerXP has encountered a problem and needs to close. we are sorry for the inconvenience.

if you were in the middle of something the information you were working on might be lost.

please tell Microsoft about this problem

we have created an error report that you can send to help us improve cdburner.we will treat this report as confidential and anonymous.

]what does this error report contain?

why should i report to microsoft?

then you have 2 buttons "send error report" and "don't send"

so, as info, i have sent it several times. but this does not help the problem.

thanks.

i am sorry, but i don't know how to copy that info to the post.

this is why i had to type everything on the previous post.

how do i get this error msg on the post?

the information on that one line (what data does this error report contain?) is very large.

thanks.

this last attachment is the report being sent.

this is large. i only copied a small part of it because it goes on for many pages.

i don't know if this will help, but it is the best way i could get the error msg into the post.

i know it's a pain to open and close attachments.

thanks.

i don't think the last attachment got posted.

so i will try again.

if anyone can help me with how you get an attachment to text in the body of the post,

i think thats better than opening an attachment. (Yes? No?)

thanks.

Hi again,

unfortunately, the error reports did not include the information I have hoped for. Could you maybe try 1) to update to the latest version of CDBurnerXP and 2) to delete the folder "%appdata%\Canneverbe_Limited"?
