Sessions - inconsistent behaviour regarding "import"

Recommended Posts

While running CDBurnerXP on a DELL Windows XP SP2, I have stumbled on the following inconsistent behaviour.

  • [*:1r5whrti] CDBurnerXP recognizes and imports all sessions of a multisession CD-RW if the media was already in the tray before CDBurnerXP is launched. In this case, the software asks about continuing or not a disc, and about leaving it open or finalizing it when burning. Everything works fine.
[*:1r5whrti] If the media is inserted into the tray after CDBurnerXP is already running, the software does not import the sessions automatically -- although it does recognizes the existing ones on the disc.
[*:1r5whrti] In the previous situation the command "import session" does not work: in the window listing the available sessions, the very last (open) session is missing; attempting to import any other session results in an error message "cannot import session: invalid format".

The only way to work out a series of burns is therefore to go through a cycle of quitting CDBurnerXP, inserting a disc, and then re-launching the software.

There is obviously a glitch to correct there. Is there a solution?
