Setting write speed when copying disc

Recommended Posts

Guest StefanW

Hello Flo,

in the "Copy Disc" dialog there is an option to set the write speed. Unfortunately, selecting the desired (decreased) write speed is impossible if no writable medium is inserted. Hence, if source device and target device are identical, I'm not able to select the write speed. It automatically resets to maximum speed as soon as I insert the source medium. Only work around is to create an ISO image on harddisk and then burn it with the desired speed, which is quite a pain. I'd be very happy if you could change this behaviour. Possible solution in my opinion should look like this:

A) If source and target device are different, just continue as is.

B) If not, allow to preselect any desired write speed (amongst typical values maybe) WITHOUT checking current medium. After user inserted the writable medium, if there's a conflict between preselected write speed and technical possible speed, show a warning message witch gives users the ability to adjust write speed to an allowed value.

Thanks a lot for this nice program!

Stefan
