0777 Report Share Posted May 13, 2010 Windows 7 Fonts FIX open your registry editor ( regedt32.exe ) 1. Click "Start" and then "Run" 2. Type regedit.exe and press Run/OK 3. Navigate through the folder tree to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts 4. Add a string variable for each font ( see below ) and change its values. Tahoma (TrueType) -> tahoma.ttf Courier New (TrueType) -> cour.ttf Verdana (TrueType) -> verdana.ttf Arial (TrueType) -> arial.ttf Arial Narrow (TrueType) -> arialn.ttf Arial Bold (TrueType) -> arialbd.ttf Lucida Console (TrueType) -> lucon.ttf Trebuched MS (TrueType) -> trebuc.ttf Times New Roman (TrueType) -> times.ttf Marlett (TrueType) -> marlett.ttf 5. Restart your Computer ( This time you have to! ) 6. Give me a check
Guest win7FontBug Report Share Posted May 16, 2010 IT WORKS... YAY. For the lazy and semi technical. Copy and paste this to something like addFont.reg ------ Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts] "Tahoma (TrueType)"="tahoma.ttf" "Courier New (TrueType)"="cour.ttf" "Verdana (TrueType)"="verdana.ttf" "Arial (TrueType)"="arial.ttf" "Arial Narrow (TrueType)"="arialn.ttf" "Arial Bold (TrueType)"="arialbd.ttf" "Lucida Console (TrueType)"="lucon.ttf" "Trebuched MS (TrueType)"="trebuc.ttf" "Times New Roman (TrueType)"="times.ttf" "Marlett (TrueType)"="marlett.ttf" ------ Thanks 0777

Alvasin Report Share Posted February 4, 2011 As explained on this page with further information here, a "feature" in Windows 7 may cause problems for some programs in certain conditions.Basically, if you have a high resolution screen at install time, Win7 will install a larger font set (125%) by default. If you then choose go back to the standard font size (100%), Windows will keep some of the large fonts even though everything else is adjusted for standard fonts, causing programs that use these fonts to break because the text will not always fit inside the GUI.
