New file erases all old files

Recommended Posts

I was using an XP version of CDburner. I downloaded the windows 7 version. When I tried to add  a file, it apparently erase everything that had been there before.

When I look at the CD through Windows, it also shows only a single file on the CD.

I do have backups so I can re-create the files but what is happening here?

Thank  you

You need to continue a previous session when appending data to a disc (explicitly, CDBurnerXP will usually ask you about this), otherwise a new session will be started without your previous data. If you made something like this happen, you can manually select the continuation of a previous sesssion in CDBurnerXP (Disc -> Import session) or use a tool like ISOBuster (http://www.isobuster.com/) for just data recovery.
