heinrich13 Report Share Posted January 17, 2010 I have a Packard Bell i Media D4600 and had not problem with CDBurnerXP when I was running on Vista. Now I have Windows 7 and it tells me that my DVD is a Atapi DH16A6S. I don't no if this is right, because on Parckard Bell I get the information that my PC model have a Optiarc AD-7200S. Anyway both these drives are compatible with CDBurnerXP according to the compatible list, but when I start the program it says no compatible drive so I can't burn with CDBurnerXP. I've downloaded the latest version (4.2.7) but it doesn't help. Can anyone tell me why it won't work? Best regards Heinrich
DeathAndPain Report Share Posted January 17, 2010 Because you have not looked into the "bugs" subforum and therefore not seen this thread. What I do not understand is why the CDBurner XP developers do not finally react, seeing that throughout the various CDBurner XP forums, pretty much every second new post is about this exact problem, so it is more than obvious that this is the #1 priority to fix. Instead, after not releasing a new version for a very long time, they now released one that addressed other issues and cannot even be arsed to give the faintest statement. (Hell, I cannot even find any release notes on the new version. Very unprofessional.) Even Flo has apparently submerged.
heinrich13 Author Report Share Posted January 18, 2010 Thanks for your reply. Sorry for not checking the Bug-thread (before I wrote my first message). I have Win 7 x32, but I think it's the same problem. I also hope that the will react upon this problem. Thanks again.
heinrich13 Author Report Share Posted February 8, 2010 I've tried the solution with the Intel Matrix Storage (?), but then Windows wouldn't start. Instead I'm now using ImgBurn which finds my drive and works fine. When CdBurnerXp have fixed the problem with drives not found I will switch back, I think.
Guest hw Report Share Posted February 8, 2011 Thank you, this discussion saved me some time. The weird thing about recognising ATAPI DVD A DH16A6S is that is works perfectly well when burning iso-images. Burning data fails with incompatible drives. I gave up using this program. Guest test Report Share Posted September 30, 2011 Still the same problem, WIn 7 on HP 550 Laptop Now it works, I installed (as suggested before by someone) the Intel Matrix Storage Manager and now it recognizes the DVD-writer.
