Ultrabuffer in CDBurnerXP

Recommended Posts

Does CDBurnerXP also cache data in advance when doing on the fly burning using something like "Ultrabuffer"?

This is how it is called in Nero. It is a certain sized buffer (in Nero up to 80MB) that prefetches the data to burned into memory, so when "disk-thrashing" occurs during burn (loading of programs located on the same physical hard disk as the data that is to be burned), the burn process is not slowed down.

I did not see any configuration option in CDBurnerXP so I guess this option is not forseen. Am i correct?

Ashampoo also does this caching. It is not configurable, but from my observations they cache about 100 MB into memory which is fine.

In Infrarecorder you can also specify this size manually.
