Hp 9100 cdrw Anything I can do to get it to be compatible?

Recommended Posts

Guest tiyogi

As stated I have an Hp9100, I see that 75% of the people see this as compatable.

However it seem like I am in the 25% that do not find it compatable.

When I stat cdburnerxp it reports that "it can find not cdr in the system"

I have

Win98SE

APIX.VXD=4.5.7 (1014)

WNASPI32.DLL=4.5.7 (1014)

So does anyone know what I have to do to get this HP9100 to work?

Hello

Can you read CD's from the drive on your machine?

Have you installed the drivers for the burner? With Win9x this is necessary. Don't worry about admin rights though, Win9x doesn't have this ...

Answers:

To Flo:

You can try a firmware update Yes updates to latest

To hansalfredche:

Can you read CD's from the drive on your machine? Yes

Have you installed the drivers for the burner? Yes drivers seem to be installed

The Hp9100 is recongized by Nero's INCD 4 software and wil formate and write to disk.

So other software recongize the drive but cdburnxp does not.

The drive is in a computer for my wife, she does not need the fastest or newest. I just want her to be able to transfer her files from the computer to a cdr/rw so that she can take them to work.

Any other suggestion, other then getting a new cdrw drive?

I'm trying to install CDBXP with one of these drives and it works fine under an administrator account, but when I try to run it with my limited account, CDBXP says it can not find any available drives...

What's the deal? Can I not use CDBXP with a limited account???
