Can "Data Disc" write 7.9 GB fully with severa sessions?

Recommended Posts

1. My PC : Vista SP2, CDBurnerXP version 4.2.7.1849

2. Disc to be used : Ricoh DVD+R DL [RICOHJPN-D01-067], this disc's capacity = 4,173,824 blocks x 2048 bytes = 8,547,991,552 bytes = 8,547,991,552 / (1024 x 1024 x 1024) GB = 7.9609375 GB = simply 7.9 GB

3. Currently I use "Creator Classic" of "Roxio Easy Media Creator 9" to write files and folders with UDF 1.02 format. This "Creator Classic" behaves as 3a. and 3b. .

(An example of files and folders is total 230 files and 70 folders in 7.9 GB)

(When some size of files and folders is saved in HDD, these files and folders are saved in a DVD+R DL for back up. So, it takes several times (= several sessions) to write files and folders in 7.9 GB.)

3a. "Creator Classic" consumes 0.5 GB idly to write in a DVD+R DL with several sessions. Therefore it is impossible to write 7.9 GB in several sessions, but possible to write till 7.4 GB in several sessions.

3b. "Creator Classic" finalizes the disc automatically after the first session when to write a size over 7.4 GB at the first session in a DVD+R DL.

4. My question : Does "Data Disc" of CDBurnerXP behaves as 3a. and 3b. above, or can "Data Disc" write 7.9 GB fully in several sessions?

1. Hi, Flo. I think there is anybody who is familiar with "My question" in CDBurnerXP staff. Can you ask him/her about "My question"?

2. If any CDBurnerXP user knows about "My question", please contribute to this topic.
