Error finalising Dual Layer DVD?

Recommended Posts

Hello, on my two attempts to burn a dual layer DVD, with different data, the same error has occurred.

When I inspect the disc, all the files seem to have been burnt successfully.

As I do not have another PC, I cannot verify if the disc is seen as finalised - does anoyone know how I can determine that?

I don't want to waste another disc, as I ordered these on line; generating a log file would imply doing so.

Ideas welcomed- especially as to how to determine if the disc is finalised.

Thanks, dalchina.

Hi, OK, I've found out

a. CDBurnerXP can't cope with Dual Layer disks (on my PC)

b. Roxio can

c. The disk wasn't finalised when I burnt it with CDBurnerXP (latest version)

d. The error message from CDBurnerXP indicated a failure to finalise the disk (probably!)

e. The files were burnt ok

f. Roxio could finalise it successfully.

g. Ashampoo's Burning Studio 2009 failed similarly.

So I guess sometimes there's something in favour of the giant burning packages.

Hope that helps someone.
