Auto shutdown doesn't really shut down

Recommended Posts

Why is it that when I select to auto shutdown the system after a burn, it doesn't really shut the computer off?

When I press the power button it goes right to the login screen, almost like it logged off and went to sleep rather than shutting down.

:?

It tries do "hibernate" actually, just in case that you would lose important data when just forcing to shut down. If hibernate does not work, shutdown is used instead.

Hit burn, go to bed... want the computer to shut down. Cleans up the system (ram and such)

If hibernate is the preferred choice, have it say 'hibernate when complete' instead of shut down.

Regardless of preference, option says shut down so expected it to shut down and couldn't figure out why it wasn't. That's all.

Maybe I should just change it. Nowadays I guess that most applications have built in recovery features anyway, should you ever have unsaved documents left.
