Wrong file names

Hello,

I've been using cdburnerxp for over a year now and ive never had a prob with it, until now.

Usually when I burn a bunch of videos via the "data disc" option and then play them on a stand alone dvd player that can play xvid the videos all retain the names they had on the pc.

However the file names on the most recent disc I burnt appear differnet on dvd players but when I put the disc back in the pc the file names appear as they should eg. on the computer the file name appears as "Sabrina - 3x01 - It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad Season Opener" and so forth for each ep. However on the dvd player the name appears as "SABRINA_" and then for the next ep "SABRIN_1"

I've tried it in 3 stand alone dvd players and they all show these weird file names but the names appear as they should on 2 diff pc's.

Any idea as to why the video's file name appears different on dvd players but as it should on the pc?

Thanks so much :)

The file system used for CD/DvD has some limitations; When I made a backup I noticed that the filename+extension is truncated to 254 characters, and the extension to 3 characters. Some burners give a warning. The most annoying thing is that in such cases .flac files are truncated to .fla and are not recognized by e.g. Winamp.

So check if the filename is long; also weird characters in a filename like ë á ì give sometimes problems.
