silent / unattended install

Recommended Posts

Guest Neojack

Thank you for this excellent software !

It may be nice to tell in the help file how to make a silent / unattended install of cd burner XP pro.

I read that the installer used to make the package is inno setup, so I tried the /silent and /verysilent switches.

Moreover, when I installed the software, I read "installshield" on the window, so I tried the /s switch.

All those switches does not work well, this screen is always appearing :

(see attachment)

I tried to make an *.iss answer file with the /r switch, but with no success.

I hope my english is not so bad (I'm french :)

Thank you for reading, and for the help.

Flo,

As a slight asside to this topic it would be nice to see that the MSI is capable of being deployed from Windows AD (thorugh Group Policy).

I am happy to test this functionality if required.

this is how I do it... it provides a scroll bar, installs into "all users" profile and the second line makes it so that non admin users can burn CDs.

start /b /wait x:\installscripts\CDburnXP.exe /S /v"/qb ALLUSERS=1"

"C:\Program Files\CDBurnerXP Pro 3\Tools\NMSAccess.exe" -install
