'No compatible drivers' only when burning data-disc

Recommended Posts

When I want to burn a audio-disc, I can select a target device. But when I try to burn a data-disc, in that same box, it sais that there are no compatible drives.

Any suggestions to resolve this problem?

I also experience this problem in a Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit system. Only when trying to burn a data disc. Windows 7 and Roxio Creator recognize the drive and use it normally. CDBurnerXP used to do so although does not now. The problem is present with the latest and earlier builds, both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of CDBurnerXP.

There is a Western Digital virtual CD drive on a WD external hard drive connected to the system. CDBurnerXP sees this drive and of course says it cannot use it.

How do we get the real drive recognized?

Same here - when I wanto to Burn data disks, there is no target device in the box. The other options (copy disk, burn iso, burn audio, etc.) actually work.
