CDB won't load

Recommended Posts

Sorry, know this question has been asked a number of times before.

So before I get referred to all the previous answers, let me say, I have been through all the replies that

I could find and tried the suggestions but none have worked for me.

I first installed the program about 2 weeks ago and all seemed well.

Then as from yesterday, the program would not load, and I got the standard message

"CDBurnerXP has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

There were no other fault codes or anything.

I have re-installed it after having deleted by using "Revo" but still NGB.

Perhaps one of our experienced posters could put me right. I don't want to give up on this

as it appears this is a much respected and useful app.

Any help most welcome and appreciated - Thanks.

By the way - many suggestions involve installation " Net Framework", I fail to see the association with this so

could some one please enlighten me . Thanks again.

Can you maybe post your error log located at %appdata%\Canneverbe Limited\CDBurnerXP\Errors.log ?

Thank you Flo for your prompt reply.

Please could you explain where I may find the quoted above error log.

Guest krogsbell

I have the same problem on Windows 8 and Vista.

I think that some Microsoft Update is halting the program.

I can see the process in the tasklist, but it never opens a window.

I see no errorlogs!

Regards,

Hans

Thanks Flo and Joey for direction on location of error reports.

Have checked out all locations and can't find anything.

Cannevebe\CDBXP has no error files associated. There are no entries for CDBXP under C\programs.

Checked Sysinternal Processor Explorer and showing cdbxpp.exe - Application error is shown but no cpu activity. Program is shown as running.

Separate flagged box appears titled - cdbxpp.exe - application error

Contents of box reads :-

"Application has generated an exception that could not be handled

Process ID = Oxd34(3380), Thread ID 0x8c4 (2244)

Click OK to terminate the application

Click CANCEL to debug the application

Hope this helps.

Does it look like this?

http://cdburnerxp.se/help/Intro/faq

Did you check the file path I mentioned above? Depending on your OS, the "real" path may be C:\Users\USERNAME\Appdata\Roaming\Canneverbe Limited.

Checked out all application data entries and could find nothing related,

The only entry under App.data was " Canneverbe Limited\ CdBurnerXP- and this was an empty folder -no data.

However did a search in Windows Admin Tools\ Event Viewer\System and found the following entry

"Application popup: cdbxpp.exe - No debugger found. : No registered JIT debugger was specified.

Click on Retry to have the process wait while attaching a debugger manually.

Click on Cancel to abort the JIT debug request.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Hope this may be of some use.

Thanks for your ongoing support Joey

What I mean is there is an error message in the FAQ that looks like this:

cd_burner_xp_v_3.5.101.4_beta_error_message.jpg

Is that yours? Or is it a different one? Maybe you can post a screenshot then?

Yes - That's exactly the message box I get when trying to load cdbxp

I posted on this 24th Nov last.

Then did you also try using the .NET cleanup tool as mentioned in the FAQ?

No have not tried this yet.

First tried FAQ in forum before realising I should be in FAQ cdbxp.

Will first try a reload of netframework as see what happens, if not will use the tool listed.

As its getting late for me - early start Monday I will report back asap.

Thanks for patience and understanding.

Sorry for the delay in replying to this post but been away for a while.

Yes - I have now used the NET tool and I am very pleased to say that everything appears

to be working 100% so far. This is indeed an excellent prog.for my use and I shall now be able to

recommend it to my many friends.

I would like to thank everybody who offered me advise to get this prog. operating especially Flo.
