Boot CD

Recommended Posts

The only way to create a boot cd is from a ima file created somewhere else. Are you considering adding the function to allow a floppy that I have created as the source or to allow the user to create an ima file from a floppy to be used to create the boot cd.

It is pretty easy to read a floppy image. I can provide C++ code if you would like.

I looked at the docs for the .NET framework (I assume you use VB.NET) and it specifically said you can't open drives using device names like "\\.\PHYSICALDRIVE0", but since it didn't say you can't open by drive letter, I think "\\.\a:" might work. You also have to get the sharing/permission flags right, but once it is open, you can get the file size and then just read the whole thing as if it were a normal file.
