No compatible drives

Hi: I've got a Dell Studio 17, about 1 year old. When trying to burn a disk of data, the program says "no compatible Drives". In every other option (Video Dvd, Audio Disk, Burn ISO image, Copy or grab disk, Erase disk) the program recognises the drive (HL-DT-ST DVDRWBD CA1ON). Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks for the response. I knew enough to get an IT guy at work to decipher what you said. Am now entering my BIOS to go from AHCI to ATA.

I'm having the same problem. I have read the linked explanatory post and it seems that regrettably, I will have to use other software when burning data discs until the full StarBurn version is available - which is a pity, because CDBurnerXP is by far my favourite burning software. Unfortunately, it doesn't recognise my LG WH12LS38 BD-RE drive any more.

My system boots from a SSD, and like all current SSDs, it needs to be in AHCI mode to perform well. Since Windows 7 was installed in AHCI mode, it wouldn't even boot in IDE/ATA mode without some tweaks. And my PC is AMD-based, so the Intel drivers are no solution either.

Eagerly waiting for the new version to come!
