Can't install without adding Amazon

Recommended Posts

Greetings,

There is something in your install package that will not allow me to install unless I install Amazon toolbar.

Is there another install package I can use without this "Feature"?

(cdbxp_setup_4.4.2.3442.exe)

Regards

Sure you can, just deselect all optional offers.

The reply quoted is not very specific, but I suspect that what it contemplates is not possible. I too cannot install without the Amazon browser, which I do not want. Whilst progressing through the installation wizard, a window displaying what may be options in relation to the Amazon Browser appears and then almost immediately disappears leaving a blank page, so that any such options cannot be selected. There is something wrong here.

Hm, a blank page should not appear, that is probably a bug in the Amazon Browser ad. Does this happen to you every time you attempt the installation?

Update,

On the Amazon issue, I do not recall any options which would not install "something". I had to put it aside as I was away for a few days.

I downloaded the installer again and tried reinstalling when I got back. This time got a different option to load something else. Here there was an option to install just CDBurnerXP with no add ons. I chose this and it installed perfectly.

Seems to be working as described. No issues creating my first data disk.

Thanks for the responses!

Cheers

OK, I'll have this investigated.

I repeated my attempt at installation to re-check and to provide you with a screenprint of the blank screen, which I would be happy to send you if I could see how to upload it. However, after taking the screenprint (using Print Screen Works, by AJSystems) I found that the effect of having taken the screenprint was that the Amazon image returned to the blank screen, so that I was able to make selections and proceed with the installation. So, I have got the installation ok, and I hope that information will help you to diagnose the problem. If you think it is likely to be something to do with my system, and can shed any light, please let me know.
