burning audio cd from file name with percent sign (or maybe plus) fails

Recommended Posts

when i try to burn an audio cd from the following file names, i get an error:

H:\music\lossless\vinyl rips\John Beltran - Faux\slowed to 33 RPM +8%\John Beltran - Faux - A1 - Faux [slowed to 33 RPM +8%].flac

H:\music\lossless\vinyl rips\John Beltran - Faux\slowed to 33 RPM +8%\John Beltran - Faux - B1 - Faux (Four Tet Remix) [slowed to 33 RPM +8%].flac

the error is:

Debug Assertion Failed!

Program: C:\Program Files (x86)\CDBurnerXP\cdbxpp.exe

File: f:\dd\vctools\crt_bld\self_x86\crt\src\output.c

Line: 1120

Expression: ("Incorrect format specifier", 0)

maybe the file name is getting used as a string and the % sign is getting used as a format specifier for string interpolation?  that's my best guess based on hazy memories of the bit of C and C++ i did over a decade ago.

when i replace "slowed to 33 RPM +8%" with "slowed" so that there's no % or + in the file name, all works as expected.

screenshot of error attached.
